Who's ready for this month's What's Up Wednesday?
I know I am! I'm linking up with Larson Lingo and answering the following questions:
1. What We're Eating This Week
This week started with a regular favorite: Baked Chicken Tacos from the Cookie Rookie
We're going to try Trader Joe's tuna burgers tonight.
I'm going to attempt to copy a favorite tuna burger from a restaurant, by adding swiss cheese, arugula, and a garlic aioli. You get extra points if you can tell me which restaurant... ;-)
We'll be going for a date night dinner tomorrow, followed by Bible study. Then Friday, I'll be grabbing Trader Joes chicken fried rice and adding lots of extra edamame and chicken wontons.
YUM!
2. What I'm Reminiscing About
This past November, we had a photo shoot on the outskirts of Lake Arrowhead. It was a gorgeous late afternoon and this kiddo showed off his photogenic prowess. I wish he could stay my little boy forever!
3. What I'm Loving
This past Sunday we had a guest pastor give an amazing sermon at church. Ricky Jenkins made me wake up to the blessings I don't deserve and to keep going in my walk with Christ. You may have read Phillippians 3 before, I know I have once or twice, but I'm loving these three points:
1. We are never done growing in our relationship with God (3:12). Even the apostle Paul said he hadn't yet known all he needed to about Christ.
2. We must let go of the past (3:13). Release all worry, stress, regret to God.
3. Press forward (3:14-16) Keep going!
4. What We've Been Up To
We moved to our new home in July, and I have had little projects here and there get started and then left. So this month has been all about action! We installed the chandelier in my bathroom, replaced all the ugly beige plates on electric outlets and switches, taken 2 giants loads of cardboard and scrap metal to the recycling center, and added some simple decor. I hate sitting on my thumbs because a project is too advanced or requires more money, energy, creativity, etc.
5. What I'm Dreading
I'm heading to the dermatologist this week. For the first time in my life, I'm experiencing acne. And not just acne. Cystic acne all over my chin. It's beyond embarrassing to have this - I'm 34 years old! Reading up on it, it is normal when hormones are out of whack. I've tried all the at home remedies and nothing is working. So I'm hoping to get answers, but most importantly, some relief!
6. What I'm Working On
I shared last Friday that my new favorite is this book:
I'm slowly working my way through it. I love how it is formatted - you can jump to whatever room your want to work on and get budget-friendly ideas that aren't just adding junky pieces. I want to be best friends with Toni. #OCDunite
7. What I'm Excited About
If you need me Friday, you better try me on Saturday. I'll be watching "Fuller House" on Netflix! #howrude
8. What I'm Reading
In This House, We Will Giggle, by Courtney DeFeo, and Savor, a daily devotional from Shauna Niequist. They are so good! I have a Facebook group for In This House... where we discuss the monthly memory verse and the activities Courtney suggests. Come join the fun here: https://www.facebook.com/gigglingmoms/
9. What I'm Listening To
10. What I'm Wearing
Normally, I love staying in my fluffy jammies for as long as possible. But I earned this ribbon today {bowing}.
11. What I'm Doing This Weekend
Hopefully, we'll work on the yards. Ryan's birthday is approaching and El Nino has made a huge crop of weeds pop up. I want to have a party outside. I want those weeds gone! #lifeinthedesert
12. What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month
I'm so looking forward to a night away with my family! Don't let me fool you...I'm not the gambling/clubbing/partying type (anymore). We are celebrating a family birthday and will most likely be found eating great food and spending time with my awesome cousins! #thatsaparty!
13. What Else is New?
My sweet, furry son, Tiger, was attacked by the neighbor's dog. He didn't puncture but took several layers of skin. Tiger went to the ER and got medication. Then a week later I noticed swelling. Then at our vet, he had to have surgery to have a drain put in, and more medication. Please join me this week in praying for his healing!
Have a wonderful week!
