Everyday in May: {Day 7: Patience is a Virtue}

In January, I started a Facebook Book Club for In this House We Will Giggle, by Courtney DeFeo. Each month, we read the chapter, the virtue, the memory verse, and then the various anecdotes, activities, and applications for raising God' kids. This month was enticing for me especially, because I do believe God made me the most impatient person that ever was. #blessed

I wish I could exaggerate here, but the honest to goodness truth is that I stink at waiting. I've always searched out Christmas gifts as a kid, I snoop to find out surprises and presents from my husband, I am an information junkie who cannot comprehend delayed gratification, and I will hand out good news and surprises to anyone willing to listen, because I just can't hold it in.

After some Googling: the words "wait" and "waited" appear 141 times, and "patience" 34 times, in the KJV Bible. I think God is trying to tell me something.

How on earth am I going to be an example of patience for my children?

G: "I waited patiently for the Lord, I cried out and He heard my cry" ~Psalm 40:1
L: God doesn't tell me no. He tells me to wait.
A: be patient! Remember His promises.
M: Lord you know my shortcomings and provide me with daily grace. Please keep me in your word and reminded of your faithfulness.
