Thanks for reading! I've linked up with Erica and her girls for some Favorites!
Week 1 of Spring Break is wrapping up and I'm a little bummed. It's been fun, but now I'm battling bronchitis. WHAT THE WHAT? So I'm bed-bound, blogging, and hoping for a miracle before my coffee tour tomorrow.
Reflecting, March has been an odd month. There's 5 weeks, which means 3 of them were spent at work. The final 2 are spring break. And now it's almost over :(
I love spring break. The weather, the time change, and the time I get to spend with my family (pre-bronchitis). Here's what my favorites in March have been like so far:
The first weekend in March was spent at a favorite: Travel Town. For an almost 3-year-old who lives for trains, and less than 90 minutes away, this is a perfect way to spend some time. I admit, it gets a little boring for me, but the look on his face makes it worth it. We walked around all the trains and rode their little train twice around the park. If you're an Angeleno and haven't gone yet, I highly recommend it!
The next Saturday was chill, but didn't keep us from hamming it up with this precious boy!
We resumed our Saturday morning walks to Starbucks for breakfast. The weather is finally warm enough to take the whole gang on a nice mile walk. This is our 3rd year doing it, and its a favorite!
We let Ryan play the piano by himself without us... gosh I can't get over how concentrated he can be. This video was taken on his 35-month birthday (we don't really call it that, but I'm noting he's in his final month as a 2-year-old).
We went to the Discovery Cube in Santa Ana back in February, and saw that the Eric Carle exhibit was coming in March. I noted it and decided we HAD to go! What a sweet exhibit. I wish it was bigger, but Ryan loves the Cube. I realized I didn't take any pictures of the outdoor dinosaur exhibit, but wow! It is fun! Next month is BubbleFest and I'm psyched!
We wrapped up the weekend celebrating my sweet mommy's birthday:
Ah, spring break! How I love you! When, I'm not suffering with bronchitis...
Anyway, when we were at Travel Town at the beginning of March, I saw lightpost signs about a Pixar exhibit at the California Science Center. I love me a good museum exhibit, so when we got home, I researched it. Tickets were fair with our student discounts and Ryan is still free for 2 more weeks, so we booked for a day during spring break.
If you have kids who love Pixar movies, do go! It is so interesting to see how the movies are made... it changed how I felt about ticket prices to see them! What a long process! There's so much science involved! Here's a couple pics:
Our tickets included a viewing of the Endeavour space shuttle. Dear readers: the pictures and video below CANNOT do any justice to the enormity of the shuttle, nor the majesty of its history.
To view this amazing shuttle was something I'll never forget!
After we left the Science Center, we went to lunch, and walked around Museum Row on Wilshire. The weather was perfect! My coughing was not.
Wow! You guys did a lot of fun stuff! Looks like you all had a blast. Have a great weekend!
