The Equity Conference was one of the BEST conferences I've attended. I think it is easy to slip into two different ends of the spectrum: overwhelm and comfort. We don't grow in either place. We don't serve all students when we don't grow.
I absolutely LOVED Father Boyle's stories. Dr. Rios reminded everyone that a need for glasses can be mistaken for defiance. The Brothers Keeper organization in South Carolina is doing amazing work bringing young boys out of poverty constraints. During the conference, I identified a need for a more diversified group to represent students in leadership. I am so excited to get to work!
