Friday Favorites! Makeup and Skincare Edition

Today's Friday Favorites is a special one: all my makeup and skincare favorites!

Rimmel London **Oh My Gloss!
I've found a new favorite gloss! Rimmel has impressed me again and this time, its with a super smooth lip gloss! This gloss has a great, oily slip, very little tacky/sticky/icky, and the color "Snog" is PERFECT for fall/winter. The color looks very pink online, but has more of a rich, buttery, mauve.

The applicator is a little different from typical glosses:

This is available at Target for $5.49. I scored it for $4.49. I am definitely looking at other shades. I love the formula and the shine.

Tony Moly Sheet Masks

Glam Life Guru, Tati Westbrook, did an Asian beauty haul last year (see her entire video here), and she mentioned a skin care line from Tony Moly. So I did what anyone would do - hauled buns to Ulta to purchase!

After cleansing and toning, I applied this sheet mask for 25 minutes.

After peeling it off, the directions say to massage the serum into skin...there is a LOT of serum on your face, so this was necessary.

I chose not to use a night cream since my face was undergoing some serious hydration.

This morning, my skin felt amazing. As I was cleansing, I could tell there was still serum on my skin.

Tony Moly **Avocado Sheet Mask

This mask just may be my favorite from the Tony Moly line. My skin felt amazing from the moment I put it on. As I was lying down for the 25 minutes, my skin was being treated to the most nourishing mask I've ever tried. This is definitely something I'll purchase again!

Tony Moly Pore Care Sheet Mask

Continuing with my Tony Moly skin care, I was excited to try this mask. Ulta says this mask has "red wine extract to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores while tightening and purifying skin." I don't have enlarged pores, per se, but I did want a great purifying mask. For me, this mask was, eh. I didn't have any adverse effects (thank God!), but I definitely loved the milk sheet mask from last week better. The point is, all our skin care needs are different. Trying them out is how we determine what works. At this price point, its worth a shot.

Why I'll never use a Beauty Blender again...
This is, hands down, the very best makeup sponge I've tried. Goodbye Beauty Blender!! Real Techniques has taken the cake for makeup sponges. Miracle Complexion Sponges are the best! I love the texture, the shape, and the price! Walmart has them for $5, and Amazon has a 2-pack for $9.98!

Best Drugstore Foundation
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25-hour Skin Perfecting Full Coverage Foundation with Comfort Serum

I was going to call this the best drugstore foundation, but this formula surpasses every foundation I've ever tried (MAC, Urban Decay, Clinique, Makeup Forever). The fact that I scored this for $7 is just the cherry on top!
This foundation is best applied using a damp Beauty Blender, or my new favorite, a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. This stuff survived 90 minutes in 90* heat! Amazing!

Tony Moly So Cool Eye Stick

More Tony Moly products. I've been using this eye stick for three months and I'm in LOVE! Some reviewers on Ulta's site were saying it was waxy and sticky. I'm thinking theirs were dried out? Mine is super smooth and I love the feel of the hydration. I don't, however, feel a cooling effect that lasts long - but to be fair, my eyes are never especially puffy.

Tony Moly Ferment
Snail Eye Mask

Continuing my review of Tony Moly skin care, I tried the ferment snail eye mask. This was a bit difficult to wrap my mind around...snail mucus is good for my skin, snail mucus is good for my skin, snail mucus is good for my skin...nope, still weird!
After cleansing my skin, I applied the eye masks and lied on my back for 35 minutes.
Having had really rotten sleep that night, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try these out. And though the idea of snail mucus on my face took some getting used to, I LOVED these! This morning, my under-eye area was less dark and not puffy at all. I'm not sure if these are reusable...there wasn't much written on the package, and the "how to use" on Ulta's website didn't mention it. I'm guessing its a one-time use product, like the sheet masks. But I'm very happy with the results!

A bit of advice, check Amazon for better prices! :)

  2. So excited to see this...I seriously was so close to trying the beauty blender and now I'll try this instead! I typically use a foundation brush but they are such a pain to clean.
