Friday Favorites!!

We're finally at Friday! I loved having a short work week, but still glad to be nearer to a weekend that I'm looking forward to. I hope you all had a great week!

Today, I'm linking up with Andrea to bring my Friday Favorites to you all.

My son falls asleep in the car. All. The. Time. I really prefer this method and the walk from seat to crib is seamless. We have it down to a science! Just look at that angelic face!

On Sunday, the warmest day of the week forecasted, we took my parents along to Ryan's first trip to Knott's Berry Farm. They were running a fantastic promotional price, and I do love me an extra couple sets of hands when we go out!

The line to meet Snoopy was WAAAAY shorter than the line to meet Mickey last October.
Ryan knows his fair share of characters now, so when I said "go say hi to Snoopy" (which it bears mentioning, he has never seen on a cartoon or photo, but I digress) he marched right up and gave Snoopy a hug!!! I love my sweet boy!

This little man.
The weather was, dare I say, warm, and the crowds were decent. Ryan actually didn't nap until we got in the car and on the road to home, which thankfully, didn't spoil his night of sleep. There's no doubt he loves his grandparents and doesn't want to miss a thing (cue Aerosmith).

Who doesn't love their crockpot in these cold evenings?! The one thing that I could love more than the crockpot is the liner that cuts cleaning time  - get yours from Amazon below! You won't be sorry!

Side note: Is it possible to love Amazon? Yes, yes it is. And if you're a Prime member like me, you're likely a parent, student, teacher, pet owner, makeup collector, coffee drinker, or all-around smart shopper. And can I just mention that Sex and the City Seasons 1-6 were just added to Prime Instant Video?! Why wouldn't you join Prime?
Before I purchase ANYTHING, I check Amazon. I've saved so much money on makeup, dog food, baby formula, Keurig cups...I could go on and on. If you aren't a Prime Member, it's time to join!

After seeing a friend's Facebook post about baking doughnuts, something sparked inside me...a doughnut lover myself, but also someone training for a 5k, baking them sounded like the perfect idea!
As usual, I went to Amazon and ordered this bad boy:

Found the best recipe on A Cozy Kitchen for double chocolate baked doughnuts, and waited until my work day was over to savor the process (seriously one of the easiest desserts I've made):

I think my pastry bag skills (aka the ziploc bag cut at a corner) need some work, but not at all bad for my first try.

I was pleasantly surprised at how simple the frosting was to make! I almost skipped this step. NOTE: never skip that step!

Then, the question:

Well, no one had any great ideas for me, so it went down the drain. If you make the recipe, and don't overstuff the doughnut pan, you can get 8 doughnuts. I halved the frosting recipe and still had a lot left.

Morning quiet time...aka, time with my Savior. Right now, I'm loving my new devotional by Shauna Niequist, Savor. If you haven't read any of Shauna's books, get on it! A gifted writer who speaking honestly about the peaks and valleys of life, coupled with recipes and the importance of fellowship around the table. Her other amazing books include Bread and Wine, Cold Tangerines, and Bittersweet. If you're looking for a new author in your walk with Christ, I highly recommend Shauna.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!! Thanks for reading! Would love to read your comments!
