How on Earth am I going to pick ONLY 3 books to take on my deserted island? I had to consult GoodReads - hey, let's be friends - to help me sift through my favorites.
Friends, this was so challenging. I decided to sort my "read" shelf to only show me the books I rated 5 stars. I decided to choose 1 fiction, 1 nonfiction, and 1 comedy.
{Erika and Shay, this was sooo hard!}
I've stepped away from fiction lately, but this novel was so fresh and took me on a great trip through the lineage of Jo March. Such a wonderful book!
I definitely wanted to pick a book about faith for this post. If I were ever stranded and had a choice in books, it would be so crucial to stay in faith. This book would do it for me.
I don't often remember exact words from books, unless I write them down, but Chan writes something that has stuck with me since I finished this in 2011: Stress tells God you don't trust Him.
I LOVE Stephen Colbert! I can imagine this book keeping me occupied until rescued from that darn deserted island.
What 3 books did you choose?? {Comment below!}
G:"If God is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31
L: Stress tells God you don't trust Him. I have worked to not stress, but we live in a broken world and God is always working on me. I'm so glad He does.
A: Reach for God, instead of the things the enemy tries to bring to us, like food or erratic behavior. They are not everlasting; God is!
M: Lord, I am a mess. When the going gets tough, I let it get to me and I turn to really dumb things. I am not putting my full trust in you. I want to rely solely on you. You are the only truth in my day.
