On Saturday, I posted my review for Out of the House of Bread. This was a fantastic read that helped me find a starting place in Intercessional Prayer.
We headed to the LA Zoo for another trip before our passes expire. The weather was super humid so we didn't last long, but Ryan was a trooper and we felt this was the best zoo trip!
On Sunday, I posted our first week's adventures into Whole 30. It is smarter eating, not really a diet. It is challenging us to be better consumers, really examining the ingredients we are putting in our bodies.
I love my church, and every so often, we are privileged to have guest pastors share their wisdom. This morning, Pastor Albert Tate came to speak on Gideon's triumph against the Midians in Judges 7, and what a message! To shrink Gideon's army, then equipping them with just trumpets and jars. God will turn down our strength so He can turn up his glory. Wow!
G: "And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6b
L: No matter what our circumstances, God is bigger, God is better, and God will win!
A: When met with challenges, we scramble. We start grasping for anything and everything that may help. We talk to people, research, maybe even hit the cookie dough. But do we consult the ONE person or the ONE book or feed ourselves with our daily bread and living water? I believe that we are works in progress and one day, we will get there, right into the palm of God's hand. He is working on me, and He proves over and over to be the only one I need to succeed.
M: Lord, I am guided by you. Empty me if the need to grasp at things of this world and instead draw close to you. The enemy will not win. My story will praise You and be a testament to Your love and grace.
