Books are the Best Gift for Christmas

Happy Day-After Christmas!

I hope you and yours had a beautiful holiday, filled with memories that will last a lifetime!

In my family, we celebrate with my side on Christmas Eve, then Santa comes for the kids on Christmas morning, and we go to my husband's side for Christmas afternoon/evening. It. Is. A. Lot. But I'm grateful that there is so much love within those 3 celebrations.

We attended our church for Christmas service on Monday the 23rd, and watched Christmas Eve service streamed online by our other church. The worship and message from both services were incredible, and I counted them as two of my major blessings of 2019. I can't forget the amazing gifts of church and pastors and volunteers and music and an overwhelming sense of welcome and love I too often take for granted. If you don't have that, dear reader, I pray you'd find it.

And then came the gifts. Books are my favorite thing to give and to get. This year, I was gifted 2 books that were absolutely perfect!

Disney Devotionals by Albert Thweatt

Faith and the Magic Kingdom by Randy Crane

At first glance, I was ecstatic; two books that combined my faith and Disney? SCORE! My brother and sister-in-law knocked it out of the park. So excited! Then, I got a little down on myself: why hadn't I thought of this? These are brilliant and I can't wait to start reading them!

Christmas may be the very best time to give books as gifts: Just as Christ is the best gift, books that connect us to our faith, salvation, and living a life that points back to Him are the best ways to bring glory to God.

What are your favorite gifts this year? Or your favorite books? Bonus if they are both!!!
