Friday Favorites: Spring Break Edition

NOOOO! It can't already be Friday?! That means spring break is nearly over :(
Despite severe allergies that gave me bronchitis for a week, it was a great time!

This cartoon is a favorite because it really sums it up! We can be great listeners, ladies!

I am LOVING the first book in the Shepherd's Trilogy: A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23.
Friends, it is making me look at David's extreme sense of patience and faith in God's timing while a young shepherd anointed to one day be king. Read it!!

Though I lost my voice 3 days into spring break, I had a coffee tour with my bestie planned. We had a great time trying different espressos, with a gelato break and a pizza lunch!

Our first stop was Verve coffee...espresso was okay...my bestie was not a fan. But a gorgeous store front!

Next was a place called Coffee Collab. We chatted outside because the owner had a potty mouth on him!

Next was our gelato break at Uli. So delicious!

Our view on our walk to our 4th location was the US Bank slide. People pay good money to go up to one of the tallest building on the West Coast and slide down a glass tube. No thanks!

I was thrilled to learn our last spot was at the Grand Central Market. I really wanted to check that place out, and our coffee spot was there!

We had delicious margarita pizza and yummy petit fours on our way out.

Ever since going to San Diego last October, it has been all Ryan could talk about. Seriously, the last 5 months have been all about fireworks in San Diego and castles (what he calls the Museum of Man in Balboa Park). So, when I found out we had a free night from Hotels.com, I booked us!

I didn't book too much for us because we wouldn't be in town very long. I knew we had to hit up Balboa Park for the train and carousel. So that was our first stop.
This kid will ride any train any day!

And the carousel with Daddy

This is the Museum of Man, that Ryan calls a castle:

We checked into our hotel around 5pm, settled in a bit, then talked dinner. The place I had originally planned was quite a walk away. I hadn't had lunch, so we opted for the pizza place two blocks away.
Basic Pizza is a favorite!
Ryan had some red pepper, eggplant, and mushroom pizza. He's a fan!
This pizza place is legit. The pizza comes out on huge baking pans. It's massive!

We walked our off our dinner a little bit, but decided we could all use an early bedtime.

The next morning, I was pleased to discover the breakfast place I scoped out on Yelp was only a few blocks away. Oh. Em. Gee! It did NOT disappoint.
Breakfast Republic's trio of french toasts for the win!

We walked down to Petco Park and Ryan found one of his favorite trucks!

Right by the big Petco Field, is a small scale field for little kids:

We take our dogs to San Diego because Hotel Indigo is dog-friendly. They have been coming with us for 4 years and they love it.
They are definitely spoiled here.

We came back to the hotel to rest a bit, then checked out.
But not before Ryan found the lobby water feature lol!

The rest of the day was open, and I planned on a walk around Coronado. We parked and walked the beach for a while. Tiger loves long walks on the beach LOL!

We live on iced tea once spring hits, and I go through about 2 iced tea makers a year. The plastic pitchers just don't last. So I was tickled when I saw this glass pitcher tea maker with great reviews! And it's pretty enough to stay on the kitchen counter!! SCORE!

My happy place is Glen Ivy, and I finally found time to go this past week. I would go every month if I could! It is the best place to relax, enjoy the sunshine, and treat yourself to total replenishment.
