In their book, Never Say No, Mark and Jan Foreman tell of their big jar of granola. They go to that big jar of homemade granola every morning, and see the label on top that says "grace." It is their daily reminder that just as granola provides sustenance, a big helping of daily grace is just as necessary.
Last year was a tumultuous one; there were amazing highs and terrible lows. I got through them thanks to the grace that God provides, which I definitely did not deserve. My relationship with Jesus will continue to grow this year, and I plan to remember my word of the year:
When I exhibit grace, whether in work, school, professional relationships, personal relationships, or basic everyday living, I am strengthing my bond with my Savior, and hopefully, also being an example of Christ's love for us all. As a bonus, showing grace can reduce my stress levels, which can get dangerously out of control. When I think of people I interact with regularly and don't seem stressed at all (!), they are actually terrific demonstrators of grace.
What is your word of the year?
