Show & Tell Tuesday: Reintroduction and Resolution ~ 2016

Today, I'm linking up with Andrea for my first official Show and Tell Tuesday! I'm hoping to stick with the twice a month blog post!

Today, I reintroduce myself to the 'net and post my resolutions.

I'm Lisa, 33 years young, married to Stephan. We have a 20-month old, Ryan, who we adopted (more about that here). We have two dogs and live in California!

Here's a couple of my loves:

I'm Lisa, and I'm a Starbucks addict.

I'm a virtual teacher. That means I get to work from home - after working my tail off for a decade, I teach students math from the comfort of my home office. It is definitely a transition! I am so grateful for it, though, for several reasons (I shortened it to my top ten):

1. no commute

2. no playground duty

3. no bus duty

4. no having to hold it till lunch

5. no dress code

6. no catching germs from students

7. no cleaning up after students

8. coffee breaks whenever I want

9. I can work anywhere with wi-fi if needed

10. I get to see my son all the time (that is definitely the best reason)

I am in the final months (hopefully) of finishing my PhD in education. Once I defend my proposal, I will be ABD (All But Dissertation) and can begin applying for academic jobs. My dream is to work at a university with pre-service teachers. My passion is building capacity in teachers and helping them navigate the ins and outs of the profession. My spiritual gifts include encouragement and administration - definitely characteristics needed for new teachers.

As far as a resolution, I like to think of it more like a Vision Board. I did a vision board last year, and found it to be successful. So far, here's what is on my list:

1. run 5Ks

2. read 15 books

3. finish that darn PhD

4. write daily

More importantly, I want to grow in my relationship with Jesus. He shows grace to me daily, which I don't deserve. I want to rely on Him more, trust His plan for my life, and show grace consistently.
